This year's National Championship will take place on July 8-9th,
2011, at the JW Marriott Desert Ridge, Phoenix, AZ. Teams from
around the country will compete for the esteemed title to be the
best at their art. Teams will have a total of 13 hours to complete
a required list of elements, and then judged by a panel of experts
on artistry and technical merit, work ethic and hygiene, and
degustation. The first place winners will earn the honor to
represent the US in the following year's World Pastry Team
Championship.
OVERVIEW
The National Pastry Team Championship is held every odd numbered
year. This event features up to 12 teams composed of three pastry
chefs each. All team members must either be United States citizens
or must have worked in the United States as pastry professionals
for the two years prior to the competition date. The winning team
represents the United States as TEAM USA in the World Pastry Team
Championship the following year.
