Pasadena, CA: Gumbo, shrimp, music, dancing, libations! Claud Beltran invites you to an incredible experience he’s cooking up called Mumbo Gumbo. Beltran, chef of Claud and Company Catering and Noir Food and Wine, will be preparing pot loads of his famous Louisiana gumbo and bucket upon bucket of his mouth-watering, finger-slinging seasoned boiled shrimp. While you pull at the shells, you will be tapping your toes and shaking your legs to the sounds of three outstanding bands shredding out classic Americana styles of folk, jazz and blues music. Want more? Noir Food and Wine will be heading the wine bar and T-Boyles will be pouring drafts of beer. “Stop it,” you say. “NO!” we say. The menu has more, including the dessert topper of bananas foster. Beltran may even light your own portion, if you are gusty. You cannot miss this!
Entertainment includes: “Wreck N Sow”, a string quartet specializing in a unique blend of bluegrass/country-western/Americana and old-timely music with an alternative edge that appeals to all ages. They are tall and they wear shirts, neckties and overalls. “Blues Bettie” – you’ll groove to their unique style of funky electric in-you-face-and-body blues funk & soul music and “Old School” featuring vocalist, trumpet player, arranger, composer and songwriter, Joel Porter who has played with Buddy Miles, Janis Joplin, and Paul Revere and the Raiders to name a few.
Claud Beltran has been throwing this annual Gumbo Fest for friends, which has grown over the years – so due to a multitude of requests, he decided it was time to throw a big Gumbo Festival because frankly, Chef Claud loves to have a party where he can feed and entertain his guests for a magical time.
Saturday, June 18th from 4:00 PM on is when the magic will happen in the lot of the Boston Court Theatre at 70 North Mentor in Pasadena. Entrance is $65 per person prepaid. Make it a party and reserve tables for groups up to ten. Who’s you daddy? You can bring him to celebrate Father’s Day one day early. Gumbo on your shirt is much better looking than any tie you could buy. Check out the full menu and details at www.mumbogumbos.com.
